Perennials

Perennials for a Lowcountry winter

Coral Bells   Euphorbia

While most perennials disappear during the winter, there are others which work well throughout the winter months in the Lowcountry.
In the bowl container (top photo) cast iron is surrounded by carex, lamium, and coral bells.

Lower left: Coral Bells add year round foliage color to containers and in landscape beds. Delicate bell-shaped flowers are held along stems high above the foliage in the spring.

Lower right: Spurge adds great texture in containers or in beds throughout the winter. In the spring they produce chartreuse flowers which are unique and eye-catching.
